Ergonomic Operation

The KNG 5P expert stands out for its exceptional ease of setup. To change the dressing roll, the directly driven dressing spindle swivels into an ergonomic position, allowing dressing tools to be conveniently replaced from outside the machine. The optimized tailstock support with a stroke of 850 mm and an additional swiveling tailstock with infinitely adjustable center pressure up to 2,000 N significantly extends the range of applications for between-centers clamping.

Versatile Applications

From gears and pinion shafts to worms, the KNG 5P expert can grind a wide variety of workpieces with gear widths of up to 670 mm. The powerful grinding spindle features a direct drive with speeds up to 9,500 rpm and torque up to 64 Nm, allowing the use of grinding wheels with diameters ranging from 60 to 350 mm.

The rotary table, with a diameter of 400 mm, electric direct drive, and deep bore for long shafts, is generously dimensioned. Despite its wide application range and robust main components, the machine requires very little floor space thanks to its compact design.

Additional Options

Demanding modifications can be produced highly efficiently and with minimal twist using 5-axis-interpolated grinding via an open swivel axis in double flank grinding mode.

When grinding worms, the dressing arm swivels completely out of the working area of the grinding slide, allowing full use of the 675 mm stroke.

The machine can be equipped with automatically CNC-controlled coolant nozzles. Additionally, the KNG 5P expert can be fitted with a loading hatch to enable automated loading.
