GrindingHub 2026 is fully booked
New forum and joint stands complement the exhibition offering
Rising energy and material costs, volatile markets, geopolitical uncertainties and sustained pressure to innovate and improve efficiency are currently shaping the operating environment for grinding technology. This makes the event in Stuttgart all the more noteworthy: from 5 to 8 May, around 460 exhibitors from 28 countries will be presenting their highlights at GrindingHub. The exhibition has established itself as a central platform for professional exchange and the presentation of practical solutions relating to the grinding process. With three fully booked halls, it has reached a comparable level of exhibitor participation to that of 2024 – thereby sending a clear signal in an economically challenging environment. “The high level of exhibitor participation is a strong signal for GrindingHub. It shows that the industry is seeking dialogue, driving solutions forward and looking ahead. This should give the entire industry cause for optimism,” says Dr Markus Heering, Managing Director at the organiser VDW (German Machine Tool Builders’ Association).
Extensive supporting programme with a new forum
With the completely revamped Grinding Solution Forum, GrindingHub 2026 is expanding its supporting programme to include content with a clear practical focus. The aim is to offer greater added value to both visitors and exhibitors: the focus is on real-world industrial challenges, concrete solutions and practical takeaways based on the principle of challenge – solution – insight. Thematic topics range from process stability and quality, through automation, data, digitalisation and AI, to the cost-effectiveness and future prospects of grinding technology. In addition to concise practical sessions, the forum includes interactive co-creation workshops in which exhibitors work with the audience to develop solutions and deepen direct exchange. Speakers include Anca, Cemecon, FDPW, GMN, Hirt-Line, Dr Kaiser, Meister Abrasives, Neuron Soundware, NPiTec, Rimon Technologies, Quaker Houghton, Vibrocut and Wirth. Dr Markus Heering emphasises: “We want to create a forum that deliberately operates differently from traditional lecture programmes – closer to the challenges faced by users and offering genuine added value for all participants.” The up-to-date programme and further information are available online at www.grindinghub.de/forum-besucher.
Joint stands build bridges between industry and academia
The joint stands at GrindingHub 2026 offer particular added value by specifically bringing together different perspectives on grinding technology: the Startup Hub, the Grinding Solution Park Industry and Academia, and the Grinding Pavilion Switzerland create compact platforms for exchange, guidance and new ideas. Due to high demand, all joint stands have been fully booked for weeks.
Whilst the Grinding Solution Park Industry focuses on practical industrial solutions, five research institutions in the Grinding Solution Park Science highlight current developments and transfer potential from the world of science. In the Grinding Solution Park Industry, alongside seven other exhibitors, the connectivity initiative umati (universal machine technology interface) will showcase concrete applications, using live exhibits to demonstrate how cross-manufacturer machine and production data communication works on the basis of OPC UA – for example, in standardised energy monitoring or the networking of machines and equipment.
At the Startup Hub, visitors can get to know seven young companies from Germany, the Czech Republic and Switzerland better. Under the motto “Meet the Founders. Innovation starts with Conversation.”, they can learn more through dialogue about ideas, technologies and new approaches for the grinding technology of tomorrow. “We see this as an excellent opportunity to present our technology to a highly specialised audience from the grinding technology sector and thus demonstrate concrete solutions to existing challenges,” says Dr Oliver Georgi, Managing Director of the start-up Vibrocut, describing the aim of participating in the trade fair. German companies benefit not only from comprehensive support from the trade fair organiser in planning and implementation, but also from
financial funding from the BMWE’s “Young Innovators” programme. Visitors can find further details and
background information at www.grindinghub.de/startuphubbesucher.
The concept is complemented by the Grinding Pavilion Switzerland, where five companies from Switzerland are exhibiting together, highlighting the high level of innovation and international networking within the machine tool industry. Further information on the joint stands can be found at www.grindinghub.de/gemeinschaftsstaendebesucher.
With these thematically focused joint stands, fully booked halls and the new, practical forum, GrindingHub 2026 reaffirms its position as the leading international platform for grinding technology.
