MAXVALUE: Measures to tackle high raw material costs
When the international machining industry gathers at the AMB in Stuttgart from 15 to 19 September 2026, one topic will be the main focus: how can productivity, cost-effectiveness and sustainability be reconciled? This is precisely where ISCAR comes in. Under the slogan MAXVALUE, the tool specialist will be presenting solutions in Hall 1 at Stand 1E50 that enable maximum performance whilst minimising the use of raw materials, energy and resources.
When changing the cutting edge, users need only replace the small carbide head of the QUICK-3-CHAM rather than the entire tool. This reduces carbide consumption, lowers tooling costs, is user-friendly and minimises downtime
Demand for tungsten and cobalt is rising, as are lead times and energy prices. As a result, cemented carbide is becoming scarce and an expensive commodity. At AMB, ISCAR is therefore showcasing its innovative tool concepts for drilling, milling, turning and grooving, which offer maximum performance and cost-effectiveness whilst minimising the use of raw materials. This is made possible by systems featuring interchangeable cutting heads, optimised indexable inserts and more cutting edges per insert.
Interchangeable head systems reduce material consumption
Highlights at the stand include, for example, the interchangeable head drills from the QUICK-3-CHAM series. With these, users simply replace the carbide head rather than the entire tool. This saves material, cuts costs and reduces downtime. At the same time, the system ensures high precision and flexibility. Visitors to the AMB can discover the new F3B drill head from the LOGIQUICK range, which enables even eccentrically positioned holes to be reamed reliably.
With its modular MULTI-MASTER tools, ISCAR focuses on maximum versatility. The wide range of designs makes them a tried-and-tested solution for finishing and roughing all materials. Here, too, only the milling head needs to be changed. This saves carbide and increases flexibility. A new addition is an interchangeable head for high-feed milling with six cutting edges and diameters ranging from five to 25 millimetres. It enables high feed rates whilst maintaining stable processes.

More cutting edges get the most out of the material
ISCAR is showcasing its versatile PENTACUT range for grooving, parting-off and turning applications. Five cutting edges per insert make optimum use of the material. The PENTA 27, for example, offers significant material savings. The insert, which is up to 20 millimetres wide, replaces five large-format individual cutting edges. Thanks to its clever design, the PENTACUT enables users to minimise downtime during tool changes. They simply need to rotate the insert and can continue working immediately without the need for re-alignment.
At the ISCAR stand, interested visitors can also see the LOGIQ-6-TURN indexable inserts for themselves. The triangular insert is equipped with six 55-degree cutting edges for roughing and finishing. The special design, featuring optimised chip breakers and a secure clamping system, enables a smooth cut, reduces the forces involved, ensures excellent chip breaking and delivers outstanding surface finishes.
