Tungaloy and NTK Cutting Tools Announce Merger and Combine Their Complementary Strengths

Tungaloy Corporation and NTK Cutting Tools announce that NTK Cutting Tools will merge with Tungaloy effective January 1, 2027, marking the beginning of a new chapter for both companies. The merger is subject to compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Following the merger, the integrated company will operate under the name Tungaloy, while the NTK Cutting Tools brand will be retained. NTK Cutting Tools will operate as an independent business unit within Tungaloy, building on the technology, tradition, and expertise that have established the company’s outstanding reputation in the machining industry. In parallel with the integration, plans were finalized for a new headquarters and a state-of-the-art production facility for NTK Cutting Tools in the Nagoya area of Japan. This multi-million investment will increase production capacity, introduce advanced manufacturing technologies, and create a modern environment for production, engineering, marketing, and corporate functions.

The merger creates synergies and combines the complementary strengths of both companies. Tungaloy brings a broad portfolio of cutting tools along with extensive expertise in the development of cutting material grades and innovations, while NTK Cutting Tools is recognized as a global leader in ceramic cutting tool technology and miniature tools.
