High-End Upgrade for Flexibility

08. September 2025

Walter presents ConeFit milling cutters at the latest state of the art

With the redesign of the ConeFit milling cutters, Walter presents its exchangeable-head system at the latest state of the art: 17 milling cutter families have been consolidated into eight and equipped with new order codes aligned with the current nomenclature. For customers, this means significantly simplified ordering. At the same time, users benefit from a technical upgrade through the newly added coating with Walter’s highly wear-resistant grade WJ30TP. The universal TiAlN coating with a gold-colored ZrN top layer not only enables long tool life but also allows quick wear detection. Like all ConeFit exchangeable heads, the redesigned milling cutters also feature a highly precise, self-centering interface of thread, cone, and contact face. This allows tool changes with maximum accuracy.

Technically, the ConeFit MD340 milling cutter is particularly noteworthy—a specialist for ISO P materials. Its variable 39°/41° helix reduces vibration, significantly improving smoothness and tool life. The z4 cutter is available in diameters from 10–20 mm, with or without corner radius. In addition to the current highlights—MD340, MC430, and MC500 (both also with WJ30TP), as well as the internally cooled, uncoated MD070—further cutters are included in the redesigned Walter ConeFit program. Alongside a wide selection of powerful, resharpenable milling heads comes great application flexibility, as users can mount different heads on a single holder. Tool changes take only seconds—with no retooling effort and minimal downtime. Users from sectors such as mechanical engineering, energy, or the automotive industry thus receive a technologically and economically convincing solution that is easy to order, sustainable, and powerful.
