Technological progress, particularly in automation and digitalisation, combined with changing lifestyles, is leading to new social expectations. As a result, needs are becoming increasingly individual and complex. A direct consequence of this is growing diversity, which requires flexible and newly conceived production processes. In addition to the challenges of digital transformation, the issue of sustainability is also becoming increasingly important. The aerospace industry is particularly affected by this development.
In response to this change, the aerospace industry is driving forward the development of cutting-edge technologies to shape the aviation of tomorrow. Innovations of this kind can only be achieved through intensive exchange. The ideal platform for this dialogue is provided by the Manufacturing Innovations Network e.V. (MIN) and the Institute for Production Engineering and Machine Tools (IFW) at Leibniz University Hannover with the ‘Machining Innovations Conference for Aerospace Industry’ (MIC Conference).
For 25 years, the MIC Conference has been bringing together leading international experts from the fields of manufacturing technology, digitalisation, machine tool construction and aerospace. Through this targeted interdisciplinary exchange, it has established itself as a crucial platform for bridging the gap between real needs and advanced technological solutions. Would you like to help shape the future and experience the exchange between industry leaders? Visit us on 4 and 5 February 2026 at the Production Technology Centre Hannover.
‘We bring together leading users and developers from industry with application-oriented research to discuss the current state of the art and expected future developments. This professional exchange is an essential foundation. It is the only way to respond quickly and appropriately to challenges,’ comments Prof. Berend Denkena from the IFW at Leibniz University Hannover.
Innovative manufacturing technologies, modern automation and sustainable developments in aerospace: these are the core topics of the MIC conference. This combination of topics offers participants an in-depth insight into the key innovations and future direction of the industry. You can look forward to exciting presentations from industry leaders such as Airbus, Kennametal, Gühring and others. They will provide exclusive insights into groundbreaking innovations and discuss the key trends of tomorrow.
Experience research up close! In addition to exciting presentations and discussions, the IFW is opening its test field to you. Innovative processes and technologies will be presented there in live presentations – all projects that the IFW is driving forward in close cooperation with industry.
The exhibition area serves as a platform for direct exchange between exhibiting companies and conference participants. To facilitate this exchange for everyone, especially international guests, the conference will be held entirely in English.
The evening gala is a special highlight for networking. In a relaxed atmosphere, it offers the ideal opportunity to further explore the topics of the day and make new contacts. A shuttle service is available to facilitate your arrival and departure.
